Sad news today of the recent passing of Dendrologist Christopher Howard on September 13th, from cancer. SmartNE had the pleasure of collaborating with Christopher, alongside Rob Davey (Estates Management), in bringing to digital life two tree trails featuring the wonderful tree collection of Wivenhoe Park, now embedded as 'tours' (look for the signpost icon) within FindYourWay@Essex, the University's online map. But it was Christopher's extensive knowledge of and pleasure in sharing all things arborial that brought the trails to life. He will be greatly missed but leaves a fantastic legacy for us all.
